Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
